New Railway Timetable

As of December 10th the new railway Timetable for 2006/2007went into effect.

“Serbian Railways” Director General, Milanko Sarancic with his associates visited Belgrade Railway Center: Marshalling yard in Makis, Telecommand and the Remote Control Center in Topcider, and became certain that the passage to the new timetable has been performed perfectly. Thus Serbian railways entered the European railway timetable.
On this occasion, “Serbian Railways” Director General congratulated to all the employees and wished them successful work.

Milanko Sarancic reminded them that the Enterprise Management has brought several strategically important decisions, like the ones regarding the provision of 1100 freight wagons, locomotives that would be operating on reciprocal bases on international lines, as well as the procurement of another ten Swedish made diesel sets.

Sarancic announced the signing of 30 millions worth contract with Spanish Government, and, looking back to the Contract signed with European Investment Bank, Director General emphasized that all the resources would be used for track repair and the electrification of the section Nis-Dimitrovgrad.

Serbian railways Director General also expressed his gratitude to the Government of Serbia and the Ministry of Capital Investment, for the support given to the biggest transport system.
