SERBIAN RAILWAYS
Large increase of freight transport
Friday, 18. May 2007.

As of the beginning of January till April 2007, Serbian Railways have transported more than five million tones of goods, which is 22,2 percent, comparing to 2006. The income was more than three billion Dinars, with 10,6 percent growth, - they said at Freight Transport Department of Serbian Railways.

In order to improve freight service quality, for the forthcoming campaign for export of agricultural products, Serbian Railways set very competitive prices for the transport of grain with special Tad car.

In cooperation with Montenegro Railways and The Port of Bar, Serbian Railways have established total transport price for the line Novi Sad – Bar Port. The market price for railway transport and grain reloading at the port is very competitive, with the aim to attract huge quantity of grain to this particular transport way and the port, exporting it to overseas countries,

One of the alternatives will be “high cube” 40feet containers, which became very common at shipping companies.

This business policy, oriented towards customers and market, will enable Serbian Railways to maintain the positive management trend, achieving constant transport volume growth, they stated at the Freight Transport Department.
