Swedish diesel multiple-unit sets, already operating in railways centers Zajecar and Kraljevo, according to the experts from Serbian Railways, are replacing typical diesel traction on our local and regional railways, for their reliability and profitability.
Maximum speed of these trains is 130 kilometers per hour. Each of the trains has two diesel motors, two hydro-mechanical power gears, and these technical solutions increase the reliability in transport.
Thanks to Fiat, that is to Volvo motors, on the inclines these trains can reach the maximum speed limit, which will increase capacity of the lines and reduce traveling time. The trains are particularly reliable in winter conditions and at low temperatures.
The set is controlled by one driver, and one or two motors can be in use, depending on the needs. One set can contain up to six motorcars. The trains are comfortable and cozy, with 68-78 seats.
By the replacement of typical diesel traction on Serbian railways with ten sets of this type, already provided, annual savings, regarding fuel consumption, will be approximately THREE MILLION EUROS.
These and similar train sets are being used at numerous European railway enterprises, including Sweden, Norway, Spain, Turkey, Algeria, Slovenia and Mexico, and there are also thirty trains operating on Croatian railways. All railway companies in South East European region are also very interested in the provision of these train sets. |
